2010 started in the most magical way possible for me.
Vladimir Psunenko informed me about this safari a few months ago and I decided to join. I had been taking some time from work.... so I decided to have a diving holiday

I was anticipating my trip with a lot of excitement since my good friends and tech students from Latvia were also coming.
So I was looking forward to see Vents, Raimonds, Sveta's glorious smile and I was even happy that I was going to see my old buddy Psunenko

I had a really nice ride in a "private mini-bus" from Hurghada to Marsa with; Raimonds, Vents, Sveta, Vlad and also 2 surprise passengers: Igor and the his wife; the lovely Tatanya. The normal pain of the road trip was dissolved in the sound of good music and the company of cool people.
Once I arrived on the boat, I was very happy to see a few people I already knew so I already felt at home.
Next step was done straight away and that was to establish fantasy land in cabin number 1

The cabin was great! I loved the old style bunks since the made the room spacious and gave extra room for the bathroom. Although I don't need a big bathroom, the style was classic and very clean.
I saw the dining area and from my entrance could already visualize many happy meals with the company of old friends and making new friends also.
I was already looking forward to the memories I would be able to keep long after the trip would be over.
I also started to remember many safaris...... and then it hit me: many many many safaris!

I kept this thought with me as I fell asleep. (I counted safaris instead of sheep

From the next morning until the end of the trip, it was as if I was dreaming! It is hard for me to explain details, since we have all been there together and each with their own perspective. But I can say for sure that I loved every minute and was not bored even for a second.
As for diving; I was very happy to see the clown fish at Big Gotta. I observed them for 1/2 hour as I was trying to discover who is their leader.... Actually, better not tell what I find interesting with fish behavior.
Another dive I simply loved was was Abu Galawa! AMAZING!!!! I always like to go there and I think I will never get tired of it.
Of course, we monkey dived it, since it is the perfect chance to show off to all the regular mortal divers

Personally, me and 2 of my stooges (Vents and Raimonds) had a great monkey adventure on Elphinstone. It is hard to explain the excitment we all felt on this dive; Strong current, scooters screaming for breath and not knowing if we will live or die!
The current was SOOOOO strong, we actually burned one scooter! Afterward the sound of ptssss when I opened the scooter was just as satisfying as the smoke that came out of it and seemed to fall instead of rise (this was because the smoke colder than air but the effect was great)..... almost science fiction

Then on our last day, we visited the great wreck of El Menya (AKA El Mina). I loved it, short, sweet, monkey dive with supersonic penetrations

But for sure the best part of my trip was the company!
Everyone there was just great and everyone was ready to enjoy life.
I have been doing this for more than 1/2 my life and it seems I will keep doing it for the rest of my life.
If I have not taught you to dive, let me teach you this about diving: Good memories are the most precious thing we have in life, use your air well!
